WHO WE ARE 

This technal.com website and its subdivisions, including the MyTechnal dashboard, is provided to you by the company Hydro Building Systems UK Ltd, Severn Drive, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom, GL20 8SF. Hydro Building Systems UK Ltd is one of five business areas in the Hydro corporation, but we will in short use 'Hydro' subject to this policy.

Our company respects user privacy and processes all personal data om accordance with the Data Protection Act (2018), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant laws.

This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect, the purposes for collecting it, its intended use, and the choices available to you regarding use, access and correction of your personal data.

The collection and processing that we carry out is in compliance with the legal framework in force applicable to the protection of Personal Data and in particular, European Regulation 2016/679 of April 27 2016 (herein after referred to as GDPR).

This Policy is intended to apply to customers of Hydro Building Systems UK and to visitors when browsing the Site or when using the MyTechnal dashboard. 

This Policy is an integral part of our general conditions of use (CGU) and our General Conditions of Sale (CGV).

Hydro Building Systems UK reserves the right to modify its Policy at any time, in particular to improve its services or to comply with any applicable regulations. 

Parent company Norsk Hydro ASA has established an Internal Code of Conduct (BCR) which applies to all Hydro entities, providing a legal basis for the transfer of personal data within the Hydro group. You can view the BCR here

1. DATA CONTROLLER

Hydro Building Systems UK Ltd, Severn Drive, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom, GL20 8SF is the main data processing manager. 

Where appropriate, the data controller may communicate your data to certain departments of the controller, to companies of the Hydro group in order to properly process requests from data subjects, and to third party providers of related services acting as a personal data processor. 

2. COLLECTION AND PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

At any time, through the use of our website www.technal.com, and/or the TECHNAL application, and/or the MyTechnal online dashboard, we may collect and store some of your Personal Data, in particular because we use tracers such as cookies that may be stored on your device. 

If you use the website only as a source of information, i.e. without registering with MyTrchnal or providing other information, we only collect the personal data that your browser sends to our server.

The creation of an account to make the most of the website's functionalities is reserved for professional users of the technal.co.uk and/or the MyTechnal dashboard. 

Professional data (for example: name of a company, its contact details such as postal address, the company telephone number, its switchboard and/or a generic contact email, etc.) are not subject to the obligations of the GDPR.

However, by creating an account, you are likely to provide personal title and contact data.

Finally, we use several related services, called "plugins", provided by third-party services for the purpose of improving the user experience of our website and the MyTechnal dashboard, and of analysing and optimising the economic operation of our website and its related services. 

3. IS MY PERSONAL DATA ONLY COLLECTED BY YOUR COMPANY?

Our Company collects and is the recipient of your personal data, and we may share your personal data with other Hydro entities or with our Customers in order to be able to respond to your request. 

However, we use several related services, called "plugins", provided by third-party services for improving the user experience of our website and the MyTechnal dashboard, and for analysing and optimising the economic operation of our website and its related services. 

Some of these related services may include data transfers to third parties, acting as processors of personal data. We strive to only use content whose providers collect as little personal data as possible (eg only IP addresses).

However, these third parties are contractually limited to using and processing the data only for these purposes.

In addition, we make every effort to only deal with related service providers who anonymise or pseudoanonymise this data. However, we cannot prevent third-party providers from storing the IP address in order to generate statistics, for example. Whenever we can, we notify affected users.

Finally, we may also share your information if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to protect our rights, our property or our safety, to comply with a legal request or other legal process, to respond to governmental or regulatory, or in the event of a merger, transfer of assets or other corporate reorganisation.

5. WHY DO WE COLLECT AND PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

7. HOW LONG WILL MY PERSONAL DATA BE STORED?

We do not collect or store personal data for longer than necessary to fulfill the purposes for which such personal data was collected, as detailed in Articles 6 and 7. 

The retention period of personal data is therefore likely to differ due to the purpose of the collection, without ever being able to exceed twenty (20) years from their collection. 

Unless otherwise stated or for specifically stated processing purposes, the personal data collected will be kept@ 

  • For the duration of the operation of the account for all personal data, including those modified, as long as the account is "active" and for a period that may vary according to the bases which govern the retention period (legal obligation, contractual obligation or legitimate interest of our Company)
  • Up to a period of ten (10) years following the deletion of your account for the data necessary to meet accounting, tax and social obligations, and where applicable, up to a period of ten years following the last execution of due diligence relating to a contract in progress on the day of the deletion of the account
  • Up to a period of twenty (20) years corresponding to the maximum period of limitation for personal data strictly necessary for the defense of the interests of our company against legal action

8. DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACERS ON THE TECHNAL.CO.UK WEBSITE?

Yes. 

When you use our website, cookies are stored on your computer. 

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard drive, assigned to the browser you are using. They contact useful information for the site placing the cookie. Cookies cannot run programmes or transfer viruses to your computer. They serve to improve the user-friendliness and effectiveness of the Internet offer as a whole.

Technical Cookies also make it possible to implement security measures (this is the case, for example, when you are asked to log into your account after a certain period of time). 

These cookies have a very short lifespan, for strictly necessary cookies, the session time, and for functionality cookies the session time, a few hours and at most a year.

These cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser. They are anonymous and each session cookie relates to only one session. They contain a "session ID", which allows you to assign various requests from your browser to the current session. Your computer will therefore be recognised each time you return to our website. 

Session cookies are deleted when you log out of the site or close your browser.

DO YOU USE ADVERTISING COOKIES?

We use cookies to support marketing activities, for example to send our users advertising relevant to their interests. 

Additionally, we use cookies to limit the likelihood of advertisements being served, and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising efforts. This information may also be shared with third parties, such as advertising networks. 

Direct marketing has a legitimate interest with regard to the purposes of data processing. 

Processing is necessary for the purpose of the legitimate interests pursued by our Company or by a third party, unless the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require protection of personal data prevail, or is justified by the consent given by the user to processing for one or more specific purposes. 

You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your data related to advertising activity. We therefore offer you exclusion options for each of the services. 

10. CAN I BLOCK COOKIES FROM YOUR WEBSITE?

You can configure the cookie acceptance settings in your browser according to your preferences. 

For example, you can refuse third-party cookies or all cookies, but in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of the website. 

When browsing the pages of our website, you can use the so-called "cookie" banner and click on the "I do not agree" button. 11. WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF COOKIES?

For data collected via tracers and other cookies, the data will be kept for a maximum of thirteen (13) months. 

12. WHO HAS ACCESS TO YOUR DATA?

Your personal data is stored securely and only authorised persons, within the limits of their respective powers, have access to it.

13. YOUR RIGHTS

With regards to the processing of your personal data, your rights are as follows:

13.1 GENERAL RIGHTS

You have a right of access, rectification, erasure, limitation of processing, opposition to processing and transferability of data. As the data processing is based on your consent, you have the right to revoke this consent without time limit. 

13.2 RIGHTS RELATING TO DATA PROCESSING BASED ON OUR LEGITIMATE INTEREST

Under Article 21(1) GDPR, you have the right to object at any time, for reasons relating to your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data carried out in accordance with Article 6 (1), (e) GDPR (data processing in the public interest) or Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR (data processing to protect a legitimate interest), including profiling permitted by this arrangement. If you object, we will no longer process your personal data, unless we can provide compelling reasons for the processing which outweight your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise of defend legal rights. 

13.3 DIRECT ADVERTISING RIGHTS

If we process your personal data in relation to direct marketing activity, you have the right to object to this at any time, including profiling, insofar as it is related to this direct marketing activity, in accordance with the Article 21 Paragraph 2 GDPR. 

If you object to the processing related to a direct marketing activity, we will no longer process your personal data for such activities. 

13.4 RIGHT OF APPEAL TO A SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY

You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about the processing applied by our services to your personal data/

14. HOW DO I EXERCISE MY RIGHTS?

You have a right to information, as well as a right of access, rectification, limitation, opposition, erasure, deletion and portability of your Personal Data, which you can exercise for legitimate reasons, and subject to compelling legitimate reasons that our Company could justify for keeping your Personal Data. 

You have the right to request:

  • access and rectification of your Personal Data (you can consult and modify your personal information at any time from the "my account" section)
  • the limitation of the processing of your Personal Data if you have legitimate reason to assert (for example, contesting the accuracy of your Personal Data, defense or exercise of your rights in court)
  • the deletion of your Personal Data (deleting your customer account data will result in the deletion of your data and accounts within the entire Hydro Group and you will no longer be able to take advantage of all of the features of the technal.co.uk website and of the MyTechnal dashboard)
  • to exercise your right to oppose the processing used for commercial prospecting purposes (for example, you can unsubscribe from newsletters by clicking on the hypertext link to your email preferences that is present in all commercial communications)
  • to exercise your right to portability
  • withdrawing your consent at any time. The withdrawal exercised will not affect the legality of the processing carried our before the withdrawal of the latter
  • to formulate specific and general post-mortem directives concerning the storage, erasure and communication of your Personal Data.

To be able to exercise your rights, which you can exercise at any time, you request for exercise must be sent to us as follows:

  • electronically to info.uk@technal.com indicating your surname, first name and email

Requests sent to our Company must contain your personal information identical to that provided when creating your customer account (last name, first name, email). A copy of proof of identity will be required to carry out processing, in the event of a request sent by post and/or by email address different from the customer account. 

We will send you a response within one (1) month following the date of receipt of your request. In certain cases, related to the complexity of the request or the number of requests, this period may be extended by two (2) months. 

In the event of a complaint, you can contact the Data Protection Officer indicated in Article 2.

15. TRANSFER OF DATA TO THIRD PARTIES

Your data will not be transferred to third parties, unless the law obliges us to do so, or if the transfer of data is necessary for the execution of the contractual relationship, or if you have previously given your explicit consent to the transfer of your data. 

Our external service providers and partner companies will only receive your data to the extent necessary for the performance of our services. In this case, the scope of the transmitted data is limited to the minimum required. To the extent that our service providers come into contact with your personal data, we undertake, in the context of the processing of orders defined in Article 28 of the GDPR, to verify that they comply in the same way with the legal provisions on data protection. Please also note the data protection notices presented by the service providers. Each service provider is responsible for the content of its external services. We verify the compliance of services with legal requirements within reasonable limits. 

We place great importance on the processing of your data within the EU/EEA. However, there may be times when we use service providers who process data outside of the EU/EEA. In these cases, we ensure that an adequate level of data protection is respected and implemented by the recipient before any transfer of your personal data. This means that by means of standard EU contracts or appropriate procedures, such as the EU Privacy Shield, the level of data protection implemented is comprable to the standards in force in the EU.

We have implemented numerous technical and operational precautions to protect your data against accidental or deliberate manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorised persons. Our security procedures are regularly reviewed and adapted to technological advances. 

 

17. PROTECTION OF CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

This Site is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will take appropriate steps to promptly delete it. 

18. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We regularly review our privacy policy. This privacy notice was last updated on 3rd August 2022. New versions will be posted on the website and notified to you in due course.
